I was given this set when I went to Hawaii as a graduation present, and used it one other time to go to a wedding. Other than that, it has been stored (my activities generally lean toward the backpack/duffel bag end of the luggage spectrum). Although they are almost 40 years old (ca. 1987), they have traveled lightly and are in excellent condition. There is heft to the pieces, made with quality materials and solid construction reflecting Samsonite's reputation. You can buy cheaper luggage over and over again, of course, or you can buy Samsonite once.
