Morrison & Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 17 offices worldwide, has an opening for a Business Development Assistant within our Marketing Department in our Denver office.
Do you have a passion for writing and want to get exposure to a law firm environment? This could be just the job for you. Guided by department objectives and priorities the Business Development Assistant works closely with the Denver Center of Excellence team to coordinate and execute on business development plans and materials, with primary responsibilities related to client development pitch and experience management. The successful applicant will provide additional support to assigned business development practice areas, prepare and update marketing and business development collateral, coordinate preparation of customized pitches, responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and presentations.
Coordinates preparation pitches and RFPs, including research, coordinating collateral, and assembling materials.
Creates RFP responses, executive summaries and other bespoke pitch materials in conjunction with attorneys and business development staff.
Provides practice area business development coverage as assigned, assisting with execution of business development initiatives, directory submissions, event coordination, profile-raising and other activities.
Maintains database of precedent clauses for use in future RFPs and business development opportunities.
Make recommendations for improvements, taking full ownership over assignments.
Edits, updates, and maintains practice group marketing materials, including practice group descriptions, attorney biographies, and content for the website.
Draft new collateral as requested.
Provides requested research using Firm and online tools to develop intelligence on prospective targets, industries, markets, etc.
Coordinate with Marketing Creative Services in applying brand standards, using firm templates and preparing files for print productions.
Complete ad hoc projects as needed in furtherance of firmwide business development goals.
Collaborate with Marketing Managers and Staff
Identify improvement opportunities through collecting and proactively sharing information with peers and others on the Marketing team.
Collaborate closely with managers and staff in all areas of Marketing to ensure strong intra-departmental communication, client service, and seamless deployment of marketing programs.
Develop effective relationships with other offices to facilitate business development and marketing events and services.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in liberal arts field, from a highly regarded school.
Teamwork and Applied Skills
High degree of motivation, with driving sense of responsibility, accountability, and responsiveness.
Excellent writing skills. Ability to prepare focused and specialized written materials.
Excellent attention to detail skills in all areas, including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
Ability to follow essential instructions.
Talent for creating client satisfaction; demonstrated ability to focus on the client value in all work.
