What Is A Foster Home?
A Foster Home is more than providing a home to an animal whose life is on the line.
Fostering is also about rehabilitating animals who have come from some horrible situations. They may never have had a kind human to show them the basic skills they need to be in a home or to be themselves.
Fostering requires patience, understanding, and an open heart.
Some animals we save...
- are not housebroken - because they have never lived in a home
- have been born on the streets or in a dirty backyard
- are nscared of a crate because they may have been left in one to starve
- have never been pet and have never known love from a human
- are startled by noises, because they were yelled at or were abused
We help each animal by guiding each Foster Home through the fostering experience.
- help animals heal - emotionally and sometimes physically
- teach foster animals what love, warmth, care, and happiness mean
- train foster animals to live in homes and become wonderful companions
- show patience and understanding
Fostering is NOT easy. Yet, it is worth the reward of seeing your foster animal find their forever home with their perfect family that will love them unconditionally.
What Does Fostering Mean To Our Found Fosters?
"I've looked for something I could do to give something back to the world and had thought about fostering for a while before I saw FNAR on the local buy and sell page. It was perfect timing...I just went for it and tried it and honestly has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding things I've been involved in, EVER.
Animals are the most overlooked and abused living beings in the world for so many reasons....being able to save lives, giving them a chance to survive, helping them adjust to new environment, and seeing them flourish and sometimes "come back from the dead" is amazing. And then you get to watch them go and find forever homes ❤️ by no means is it always easy, it takes a lot of patience, time, effort, understanding, and sometimes tears but the result is so, so rewarding and outweighs every moment of being overwhelmed or frustrated. Love being able to do what I do 💛 fostering has brought a ton of happiness and quality to my life, it's an important part of it now!"
