We are a high-end design-build firm specializing in "unsolvable" problems and quality construction. From custom kitchens to 3D-printed solutions and woodworking in our own fab shop, we do things differently. We prioritize planning (Design It), custom fabrication (Make It), and efficient management (Build It). We have humble beginnings but are slowly and surely breaching into the premium / luxury clientele.
Who we’re looking for:
We need a heavy hitter. This role is ideal for a former General Contractor or Finish Trim outfit owner who loves the craft but is tired of the administrative headache of running their own business. If you’re looking for steady work where your expertise is actually valued, we should talk. Most of our clients are in million dollar homes with million dollar expectations. We also have parallel in-house projects going on that are unique and in need of an experts eye.
The Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 15 years in the trades. You’ve seen it all and know how to solve it.
Skillset: Exceptional finish carpentry skills and/or the ability to manage a jobsite and subs with professionalism.
Background: Ideally, you have experience running your own crew or company.
Mindset: Quality-first. We don’t do "good enough." This can't be stressed enough, if a no-shortcuts attitude is not your nature the relationship won't last.
Character: Integrity. I (the owner) put 100% of my final evaluation into how much integrity I believe you have.
Pay: $65/hour par time, then growing into salary and profit share with benefits.
Schedule: Starting part-time with a minimum 5-10 hours every week. As we grow, this can scale into a full-time role, or we can keep it part-time if you prefer the flexibility and we bring on additional help.
The Work: High-end residential remodels, ADUs, and custom projects. We run a lot of subs and so its a lot of truck time, but framing a wall or some trim work needs to be in your ability to keep a project moving on schedule for those in-between requirements.
This role is meant to stay in the lane of the Foreman/Supervisor. This is a field role, not an office. We separate project management from the foreman role so you're not going to be asked cashflow related work nor will you be the main point of contact with the client. The only 2 software systems you'll be asked to use is Slack (a messaging app) and an hourly tracking app so we know which projects to bill your hours (automatically). Your primary function is to maintain integrity of the work performed and keeping the subs on schedule. And its our goal to keep you as distraction free from that objective is possible.
So if you love to build but are fed up with the headaches of admin and clients and are looking for something simpler to help a growing remodeler get in touch.
How to Apply:
Don't just send a generic resume. Tell us about a project you’re proud of and your experience running jobsites. Insurance and proof of quality work are required. Also please answer the question in your email: What book did Douglas Adams write?
