A busy, well-established Construction and Utility Company is seeking an experienced Diesel Shop Mechanic to join and help lead our team. With over 15 years in the industry, we’ve built a reputation as a leader in our field. Key Responsibilities
Perform service, repairs, and maintenance on semi-trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Lead by example in diagnosing and repairing end dump hydraulic systems, brakes, lighting, and preventive maintenance across our fleet.
Take ownership of complex repair projects and guide team members through technical problem-solving.
Mentor junior mechanics and provide support, training, and direction to co-workers to build shop capability.
Ensure all safety policies are followed; attend safety meetings and promote a culture of safety in the shop.
Maintain accurate repair documentation, parts usage records, and time tracking.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant.
Collaborate with management and field teams to ensure equipment is reliable, safe, and project-ready.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic (construction/heavy equipment experience preferred).
Must have own set of personal tools; heavy-duty shop tools are provided.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and support co-workers.
Proven teamwork and communication skills — must be a team player who leads with initiative and professionalism.
