Two new TP50 Torx bits for removing the bed bolts in the 1997-2014 Ford F150. $9.00 ea. Pickup today.
You should familiarize yourself with the difference between a Torx T50 and Torx PLUS TP50 before you make the same mistakes I did by rounding out your bed bolts. These Torx Plus TP50 bits will sustain much more torque than a regular T50 Torx bit. The bed bolts used on the F150 are TP50 thread forming bolts from the factory and are way too tight to reliably remove with a regular T50 Torx bit. If you round out the bed bolts by using the wrong Torx bit you will be welding a nut to the head of the just destroyed Torx bolt and then buying a new bolt from Ford.
I'm sure there is some place in the greater metro area that sells these but I couldn't find one. Buy yourself one of these or plan on interrupting your planned work for a period of time while you wait for delivery from an internet source. If you don't buy one of my bits at least you have been forewarned not to use a regular T50 Torx bit.
Two new TP50 Torx Plus bits available right now, $7.00 each.
