Joss custom cue and two shafts. There is something about playing with top-quality equipment that makes you play better. The main cue is 58.5 inches long (a little added reach to reduce times using a rake - - if one is even available, and extensions change the balance and break your rhythm). Older cues tended to average 57 inches.) 13.25 mm tips, steel screw joint, ivorite ferrules, tasteful pearl and silver inlays, Irish linen wrap. The black linen wrap helped with perspiration and did not show chalk. This cue also has a slightly forward balance for better touch.
A Joss break/jump cue is also included in the sale. You may have seen others similar, but this one was designed well. This is a specialized cue with a shortened joint, shortened ferrule, harder tip, and thickened tapered shaft - - all to absorb the harder impact and to provide stronger break energy. The break cue is also better suited to coin-operated table play with the larger or heavier cue ball and is disguised to fit in with house cues. Finally, the jump butt is shorter for easier elevated arm position and springier action to make legal jumping easier. This butt fits the break cue shaft using a matching joint. If you’ve ever had to play where tight surrounding areas prevent a full stroke, this shorter jump version makes it easier to play out of trouble. Believe me, this combination cue is one accessory every money player needs. Included in the sale was a 2 x 4 George custom case I designed, but I sold it independently. Those cases are harder to find since Mike also passed away. There may be a few Fellini cases or even Ann Gore ones floating around if you search hard, but this case was unique in that it had two tops instead of an exterior pouch. I’ve left a picture so you can see the concept and design.
Why am I willing to sell such personalized equipment? I lost vision in one eye due to a detached retina and have cataracts in both eyes - - only one eye is fixable with an operation. I don’t know any blind professional pool players, so my future endeavors don’t include using this set. Both items above can be purchased separately, as with the case. This is a "touch" cue for position players with a medium feel tip and great balance. Effren Reyes's style is perfect for this cue.
Let’s talk payment. I like cash. Who doesn’t? I always played for cash and not checks. I’m assuming you want to inspect the goods in person, so cash is easier for all. Why is the price so high? I don't want to sell the cue because it was a part of me for so many years, and the price will deter collectors who think only of resale value. If you are not able to come in person, I will accept a PayPal transfer. I have no idea what shipping would cost, but insurance is expensive (48 x hundred dollars), so be prepared for at least cost above the shipping - - but save that money and come in person. The cue is prettier in person and you can check out the balance. Those two options are the only ones I will accept.
