We are seeking an experienced Insurance Restoration Estimator with a strong background in Xactimate, Symbility, and other insurance estimating software. Former insurance adjusters are highly preferred, as we value candidates who understand the claims process and know how to communicate effectively with insurance companies while confidently defending their estimates.
One of the most important aspects of this position is the ability to negotiate with insurance carriers and reach an agreed scope that is within approximately 5% of your original estimate whenever appropriate. Consistency is also important, so all estimates should be written in a similar format and style as our existing estimating team. We will provide examples and guidance to help ensure uniformity.
This position also requires travel to customer homes to inspect losses, take measurements, and document damages with photographs. There may be occasions when you'll need to pick up insurance checks, write supplemental estimates, and assist customers throughout the claims process. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you'll often serve as one of the primary points of contact for our clients. The ability to prepare both insurance and out-of-pocket estimates is also highly desirable.
Desired Qualifications
-Extensive experience with Xactimate, Symbility, and other insurance estimating software
-Previous experience as an insurance adjuster or restoration estimator preferred
-Strong understanding of the insurance claims process
-Possess a license for Xactimate
-Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to confidently defend estimates with insurance carriers
-Experience writing both insurance and retail (out-of-pocket) estimates
-Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-up
-Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
-Technologically proficient and comfortable using digital tools in the field
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
-Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to customer properties
-Insurance licenses, certifications, or industry credentials are a plus
-Solid understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and applicable regulations
