Denver area voice and data cabling company is seeking Cabling Techs and Leads with a professional appearance for City and County of Denver DBE certified company that will bring on various prevailing wage opportunities. Monday through Friday with occasional overtime. Pay depends on experience. Company offers paid holidays, paid vacation, medical and dental. Must have reliable transportation with a clean driving record.
Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role(s) will generally include:
o Install network solutions in a variety of environments including new construction, commercial office space, hospitals, and production facilities.
o Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot all category copper cable including, but not limited to CAT3 25 pair, CAT5e, CAT6, and Cat6A.
o Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot multi and single-mode fiber optic cable.
o Dressing and terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)
o Install support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
o Occasional installation of A/V, surveillance, and access control systems.
Must be competent in this field, self-motivated, dependable and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player who is able to exercise discretion, good judgement and maintain confidentiality at all times. Must have ability to work independently and adhere to time lines. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Specific qualifications for the role include:
•2+ years experience installing voice and data systems in commercial environments for Cabling Tech position, 5+ years experience for Lead Cabling Tech.
•Proficient with the proper use of trade hand and power tools.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics.
•Ownership of basic telecom tools and safety wear
•Proficient with the installation of racking and framing equipment.
•Possess a comprehensive knowledge of fiber-optic, coax and network cable.
•A strong working knowledge of BICSI Standards; certification is a plus
•Ability to see colors and have knowledge of color codes
•Ability to pass drug test and background check
