Base Coat duties included.
Organizing hundreds of guitars on racks a different stages of the process. Inspecting guitars for flaws or any other mistakes or issues from any previous process. Masking off areas with tape.Using sandpaper, razor blades, and reamers to smooth out rough areas and to ensure proper adhesion of coast coat materials. Mixing concentrated dye and uncolored grain fill by weight to achieve the desired color and match for company standard. Applying gain filler to guitar bodies and removing access with burlap, until pores of the wood are filled. Then remove access on the surface of the guitar and buff to a smooth finish with a cotton rag. Was responsible for completing 25-40 guitars a day. Quality control for my entire department before the next stage.
Final assembly Dudties included.
Quality control inspections before, during, and after working on each guitar, assessing issues and sending them to appropriate areas to be corrected. Ensure that the paperwork and all the parts are correct and accounted for. Soldering electronic components to make up the pickups, wiring assemblies, and completed guitars once assembled with all the parts. Turning a bin of parts and a finished from finishing operations and woodshop into a finished guitar. Repairing and taking apart completed guitars and diagnosing problems and fixing them without damaging the guitar. Maintaining over 50 tools, and 50 different parts on the workbench, maintaining a safe/clean work environment, and responsible for building all of the guitar models offered including marketing guitars, prototypes, hollow bodies, and wood library guitars, Completed anywhere from 6-14 guitars a day depending on workload and models working on. Testing the electronics once completed wiring and fixing issues before sending to the next step
