This hands-on position is responsible for providing proactive daily grounds and facilities maintenance for private residences and properties located in the Littleton, CO area. Under the direction of both the Facilities and Household Services Managers, this position will be responsible for overseeing routine preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds. The individual will utilize multiple trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, painting, pool/spa, HVAC, carpentry, roofing grounds and vehicle maintenance. Additionally, this individual will provide general family support in a “houseman” capacity, assisting with miscellaneous tasks as requested. This position will coordinate and oversee additional vendors and contractors as needed. This is not a live-on/live-in position and only local candidates will be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
• Respond promptly to family and manager requests.
• Perform general handyman work, preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and perform basic repair and maintenance on tools, vehicles and equipment.
• Perform miscellaneous duties including:
o Snow removal
o Indoor and outdoor lighting maintenance
o Trash and recycling
o Pool and spa care
o Caring for the family dogs
o Exterior building/roofing, furniture and patio maintenance
o Appliance and plumbing maintenance
o Light carpentry
o Vehicle and watercraft maintenance and detailing
o Seasonal lighting installation
o General “fix-it’s” as required
• Assure each day’s activities and problems that occur are communicated appropriately.
• Management and monitoring of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly punch lists and routine maintenance schedules.
• Assistance in maintaining property files and records, including equipment and maintenance documents.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with all property staff, vendors and off-site partners.
• 24/7/365 coverage including evenings and weekends as required.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting private families in a residential, apartment or condominium setting. Strong interpersonal skills are required as this position will be of direct support to family members.
Local travel in support of facilities requirements at other family-owned properties will be required. Must be legally able to drive and operate a motor vehicle. Must provide their own transportation to and from work.
EDUCATION AND WORKING STYLE
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully:
Education & Experience:
o Two to five years mechanical and/or construction experience is required, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping or equivalent combination of training, education and experience, preferably in a residential, apartment or condominium environment.
o Ability to operate various hand and power tools and equipment used in grounds keeping such as lawnmower, power washers, shears, trimmer etc.
o Demonstrated experience in maintaining the confidentiality, safety, security and privacy of employer.
o Comfortable working with a Smart phone and ability to communicate via text message.
o Fluent in the English language. Familiarity with Spanish a plus.
o Must own and operate an available motor vehicle.
o May be required to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
o Must be a discreet individual with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
o Ability to work closely with family members, employees, vendors and design and construction professionals to promote a productive congenial environment.
o Ability to accommodate a non-traditional work schedule and remain flexible to meet the family’s needs.
o Possess a hands-on, “No job too big or too small” attitude.
SALARY & BENEFITS
This role will be paid hourly and is eligible for overtime; 100% Employer paid medical insurance and 401k; (15) days of paid time off, vacation scheduling with family approval. Daily schedule is generally Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional weekends and evenings required.
Candidates must successfully complete both Federal and State background checks. Candidates will also complete a background investigation, employer-provided on-line assessment and drug screen.
