Our farm is hosting another Backyard Chicken Keeping 101 class. Please spread the word to anyone who might be interested. The Fleischer Family Farm is a small urban farm on the Colorado front range striving to provide opportunities for the local community to source delicious nutrient rich produce, cage free eggs and other cottage food items produced without the use of pesticides or synthetics. Through environmentally respectful practices, our family works tirelessly to be the community provider of quality farm products and your inspiration for continued education in knowing the life cycle of your food.
We have been raising egg birds for over 5 years now and have been through a lot. We would love to pass on our knowledge and experience to you or anyone else who may be interested in starting a backyard flock. We will discuss the basics of choosing the right birds, building/buying the right coop and run, feed/treats, pests and predators, basic health issues and more. All students will leave with a pair of beginner chicken keeping handbooks, a syllabus/note catcher from the class, a collection of business cards to help you get started and a couple of farm fresh eggs to try. Trust me, you'll never go back to store bought eggs!
The class is set for Saturday October 27th from 1:30-3:30 at our farm in Lakewood.
$35 per attendee or $55 for a couple. We accept cash, check or Venmo money transfer.
The class is BYOB. Since you're giving up a beautiful Saturday afternoon to come learn about Chicken Keeping, we want you to enjoy yourself and have fun.
Please email me for more details or to reserve your spot. Last class had 15 attendees. We sold out in just a few weeks so please be sure to sign up today!
