Responsible for ensuring quality residential services are provided in accordance to all government regulations or agency policies. Supervise and provide support to a team to create a safe and supportive environment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Essential Functions:
Communicate clearly with others in a professional and respectful manner
Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records in department database according to department standards
Monitor training and review timecards of employees and take action if necessary
Interview, train, and coach employees and monitor work performance, taking action as needed
Attend and participate in meetings as required by the department
Identify and resolve workplace problems
Coordinate care for people in services and find coverage as needed
Complete monitoring, home visits, and medication checks as required
Coordinate with medical and behavioral personnel to ensure medications and appointments are current
Monitor finances and benefits for people in services
Translate documents and communications in both English and Spanish as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide care or coverage as necessary
Assist with moving and assist people with transportation
Assist with planning vacations or trips
Attend or complete and pass trainings as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Work Experience:
Valid drivers license required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field preferred
Associate’s Degree Human Services field preferred
4 years or more years experience working with people with disabilities required if no degree
2 years or more experience working with people with disabilities required with Associate’s
1 year or more supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms in both English and Spanish
Ability to be on-call and work a flexible schedule
Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms
Ability to use office equipment such as fax machine, scanner, copier, phone
Advanced communication and leadership skills needed to lead a team
Advanced time management and organization skills
Analytical thinking skills to solve complex problems
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Basic knowledge of technology such as internet browsers, PDF software, database systems
Moderate typing and data entry skills

Working Environment:
Primarily in an enclosed climate controlled office or room setting, but also travel to people’s homes. Possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids, and loud noises.
