I have 30+ years of live performing experience. Genres I've performed in include Rock/Blues/Country. Of those 3 I don't have a particular preference as I tend to choose projects based on the quality of the other musicians regardless of the genre. Probably should go without saying but I do have pro gear Yamaha and Pearl kits. Generally play a 5 piece kit (or smaller).
Based on feedback from past performing partners the primary compliments I've received are:
Excellent meter/time keeping (probably the most important fundamental skill to have!)
Good dynamics (and/or the ability to play TO the song rather than "over it")
I'm proficient at swinging the groove (for you country and blues players but those of you who know your rock drummers well, John Bonham was a master at this technique!)
So personally I believe I'm about as stable and reliable as they come (now that's relative to musicians of course!;-))
Seriously though; no substance abuse issues, great team player, don't ever freak out or sweat the small stuff. I'm semi-retired so I have a very flexible schedule for rehearsing and gigs, reliable vehicle, blah-blah-blah.......
