š¹ **Keyboards** ā the heart of this. Wurlitzer, acoustic piano, organ. Ideally you sing in a lower/bluesier range (the Rick Davies parts ā "Goodbye Stranger," "Bloody Well Right"). Bonus if you play harmonica, since Davies handled the harp parts himself.
šø **Guitar/Lead Vocals** ā acoustic and electric. Need someone who can hit the high Roger Hodgson tenor stuff ("Dreamer," "Give a Little Bit," "Take the Long Way Home"). That high register is the hardest thing to cast, so if that's you, please reach out.
š· **Sax / woodwinds** ā Helliwell's role. Sax primary, doubling on clarinet/flute a huge plus. Backing vocals welcome.
šø **Bass** ā melodic, locked-in, tasteful. Backing harmonies a big plus.
š» **Strings** ā violin especially, or anyone from a string-quartet background who wants to bring real orchestral color to the featured moments.
šŗ **Brass** ā trumpet, trombone, tuba.
š„ **Multi-percussionist** ā one versatile player to sit alongside my kit and cover everything else: hand percussion (congas, bongos, shakers), mallets and bells (glockenspiel, vibes), and aux toys like tambourine. A color-and-texture role that fills out the layered overdub sound live.
šļø **Musical director (non-playing)** ā this is the most important role, and I'm setting the bar high. I need a real leader: someone with a strong musical foundation (composition, arranging, or conducting background ideal) who can chart parts, dial in harmonies, and shape eight instruments into one cohesive sound. Since I'm buried behind the kit, this person is my objective ears out front ā running rehearsals, owning the live blend, and holding the standard. I want the hardest worker in the room: someone ready to take charge, drive the vision, keep everyone accountable, and genuinely care about making this great. Live sound-engineering/mixing experience is a big plus. If you're a natural leader who'd rather build something excellent than be in the spotlight, this is your seat.
This is a bigger ensemble than most cover bands, so I need people who can commit to regular rehearsals and are in it because they genuinely love this catalog. Iām currently in Morrison but anywhere around the Denver area preferred so rehearsals are actually feasible.
