I sing a bit and play acoustic guitar, bass, banjo in the strings variety, some synth and accordion in the keys variety, a bunch of hand drums and other percussions, and a good bit of miscellanious instruments and other musical toys. Currently I am in between homes. I am renting a cheap place in Commerce City while I wait for my manufactured home to sell, at which point I will start looking in to purchasing a home which will have a dedicated space for a jam room. So I figure now is as good a time as any to start trying to meet some musical mates I can get along with and create something original with. Covers aren't out of the question, they can be fun and all, but am mostly interested in making new music.
Looking to get into something that blends organic and electronic sounds, and crosses, blends, and even defies genres. I have no expectations of people being able to bust out instant next level solos and chops. Just be open minded, willing to try new things, and have at least some basic ability to understand and communicate musical concepts, and a desire to make something that is hopefully worth listening to more than once.
To me, the most important thing is that we have to be able to get along. If we're great musicians who can't stand each other, that's gonna go nowhere fast and be intolerable. As such, please, if you voted for Trump, move along. Otherwise, age, gender, sexual preference, ethnicity, etc..., none of that matters to me.
I'd be willing to consider bands who might want a multi-instrumentalist to add a unique flavor to each song, playing some ambient synth in one song, percussion in a different one, perhaps something more unique like a hang pan or tongue drum or xylophone to make it stand out, or do some texturing, I could be your guy if it's a good musical fit.
Otherwise if you're a songwriter and want to do a little collab, or another instrumentalist and want to make something unique that stands out, or both, or something I haven't listed, let's see if we get along. We can start with getting some coffee and a conversation, talk a little musical philosophy or something. I'm open to all kinds of situations, as long as I get to wear my creative hat, and we get along, the sky is the limit.
As for genre, the only things I'm strongly not interested in are metal, country, and the single genre mentality. Otherwise my musical taste is all over the map, and not just the radio popular music map, but the world music map, and the music history map, and the indie music map, etc...
