I'm an experienced bassist who is into generating legitimate soul, r&b, and funk grooves. I have my own gear and practice space. My hope is to find a drummer and rhythm guitarist capable of, or at least that have the drive to, play some of the more complicated grooves that really make people move. Once we have a start and a foundation, we will finish out to a 5 or 6 piece (keys, lead, singer) and play some places, wherever there is a PA at a reasonable hour, with a three or four song set. If all is good after that, we will build a catalog of a dozen songs and play original venues with old, deep dive tunes that will make people have to dance.
I'm open to a full r&b/soul flavored cover show after that, if all parties are interested, but I'll wait until we get there to cross that bridge. I've built a bunch of cover and original bands and am familiar with the Denver metro scene, and how to market my group.
This isn't a step into it and step out to play venture. I want to do this right, and groove better than any other band in Denver. If the pieces fall together quickly, I'm into getting out there faster, but I've learned that it takes time to build that synchronicity. So if you just want another set of gigs to fill out a schedule, this probably isn't for you. If you want to play killer music with good people, we should talk. A super talented musical family is what I'm after.
I'm willing to meet with and discuss this idea with anybody who has the drive to participate.
BTW... That's Wilson Pickett in the pic. He's not in the band, but some of is music sure will be.
