WHO I AM:
Hi! My name is Brandon Tate, and I'm a multi-instrumental musician based in northeast Denver/Aurora. I explore a wide range of genres and instruments in my free time, and this has led me to amassing a large collection of fun music gear through the years. I am seeking a long-term cover band to join heading into 2026, primarily as a guitarist, but with the possibility of adding in numerous other instruments into my live rig!
I have experience with the following instruments:
-6-String Guitar (acoustic, electric, baritone, short scale, alt. tunings)
-Extended Range Guitar (7, 8, 9-string, baritone scale)
-Bass Guitar (4, 5-string, electric, fretless, short scale)
-Keys (piano, synths)
-MIDI programming (REAPER DAW, synths, drums, backing tracks)
-Mandolin (acoustic / electric)
-Irish Bouzouki
-Ukulele
-Balalaika
-Lap Steel Guitar
-Cigar Box Guitar
-Merlin Dulcimer
-Digital DJ Turntables (Virtual DJ)
-In-Ear Monitor (IEM) rigs + setup
THE BANDS I’D LIKE TO BE PART OF:
1) A new cover band, playing 3-4 hour shows, focused on 2000s-present music (Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, other 2000s pop, rock acts). I figure this could be done with a combination of drums, bass, 2 guitars, keys, male & female vocals?
2) An existing cover band, playing 3-4 hour shows, ideally as close as possible to number 1.
3) Little Monster, my Royal Blood tribute band.
This is a passion project I hold near to my heart. As it goes through some break periods, I’m always open to continuing it if fun show opportunities arise.
OTHER THINGS ABOUT ME:
1) I live for using In-Ear Monitors (IEMs) in studio and live settings. I will not consider opportunities where use of IEMs is not guaranteed.
2) I DO NOT believe in using AI for the creation of promotional or other artistic materials.
3) With an over 1000 subscriber channel on YouTube, I’m very active on social media, and I’ll promote the hell out of whatever we might be working on!
4) I’m very upfront about what I can/can’t do musically. Please feel free to ask about musical/gear specifics, and check out my YouTube videos linked above too!
5) I’ve played in wigs, makeup, suits, costumes, casual clothes and more! I’m willing to get into character for shows!
6) I’ve played shows ranging from 1 song to 40+ songs in length!
7) I have my own HOME STUDIO (see pictures) and I’m more than happy to host practices, and we'll never have to pay for space to do so again! It is fully furnished with a PA system, my own IEM rig, and a 5-piece Tama acoustic drumkit with cymbals.
8) I’m 100% drug and alcohol free!
9) I’m 100% LGBTQ+ friendly!
10) I have some additional language skills in Spanish and Russian.
11) I work at a university in the Denver area with a very consistent schedule and am readily able to meet for practices on weeknights. Weekends are also usually awesome for me. If I ever have any sort of prior commitment that may conflict with potential practice dates, I’m very good at communicating this to everyone.
12) I very much value well-thought-out band practices, and not trying to cram everything together at the last minute.
13) I have my own reliable car and gigging gear, and I can help others move gear if need be!
14) I’m 30, if age matters to anyone reading this.
15) I pride myself on being super reliable bandmate and a constant learner. I also very much value being on time to practice and shows!
16) I’m currently NOT seeking opportunities with original and/or tribute bands, or for openings for bass guitar specifically. However, I won’t rule out doing an occasional fill-in from time-to-time.
I’m very responsive to inquiries, please feel free to email me or DM my social media. I’m very much looking forward to playing out live more consistently again!
