1982 is the first year of the revolutionary Marshall JCM800 Lead Series 2205 50 watt head. These were equipped with two channels, which could be activated via a foot switch, allowing for separate lead and rhythm sounds. They also had an effects loop and reverb, also a first for Marshall. The JCM800 amplifiers became a staple of 1980s hard rock and heavy metal bands. The 2205 was a favorite of Michael Schenker for the stronger pre-amp gain than the 2204 and the fact that if you bump up the normal volume channel while running the Boost channel at a fair volume it is said to have a bleed that gives a Plexi type tone. Great amp in amazing condition.
