I purchased this beautiful horn brand new in 1976. It served me well in my music school days and my brief stints of gig work. Since the mid-80s, it has sat in a closed case under my bed in Denver. The hope was that someday I would get it back out, dust off my chops and enjoy playing it again. After 40 years, however, I concede that I probably am not going to do that as my interests lie elsewhere. Rather than collect more dust, I think it best for another enthusiastic horn player to enjoy and treasure this top quality instrument.
It is in excellent condition with the exception of the cork on the neck and the predictable scratches around the strap loop. I had it scoped by two repair people. A few of the lower pads probably need to be replaced. The action is excellent, and still has a rich full sound treasured by Mark VI fans.
The horn was manufactured in Paris probably in 1973-4. The serial numbers is 213843, which in my understanding were considered “balanced-action.” It comes in the original case
