The Vega ss-5 Folklore was produced in the 1960’s by the Vega Company, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality banjos.
It is a long-neck banjo, often associated with folk music like Pete Seeger.
The model is known for its “woody” tone, which is desirable for Old Time, folk, and classical music.
The instrument is a sought-after time among musicians and collectors due to its craftsmanship and historical significance.
The wood-work on this particular banjo is in pristine condition with hardly a scratch. I am more a ‘guitar’ enthusiast so this banjo has had little play-time. Not certain of it’s history other than what was shared above. It’s been more a decoration than anything else. Needs a good dusting and likely some loving and new strings.
Asking $500 Probably worth MUCH more comparing to others on CL and Ebay.
