I have a great [fully setup] 1/2-scale, Yamaha V-7 violin with kit upgrade for sale. The V-7 is a step-up violin for a young student. Designed with advanced tonal qualities in mind as well as ease of play, the V-7 isn’t a “beginner violin” or a “violin shaped object” (VSO) it’s a real instrument any student would be proud to study on and own.
Most parents would opt for a lesser violin for their student, but any parent would rather choose this over something lesser. This violin is literally the easiest [to play] violin I’ve ever played — no joke. It’s in fact so easy to play, a child could do it — 😉. It is a violin mostly intended for a child to learn on and it is in fact super-easy to play and sounds great. I’m a big fan of the V-7 and for a new student they would get off to a good start by choosing the V-7 as a launching point for their musical journey.
This violin is fully setup with a quality Aubert bridge with a parchment bridge protector on the E string notch. The instrument is fully worked-over and needs no types repairs. The tailpiece has been upgraded to a composite version with built in fine-tuners for a proper setup. Originally [shown in some of the photos and the one of the violin in the case] the violin had a standard tailpiece with external mount fine-tuners for every string; some people do this because it’s easy and it’s also a bad move as it negatively/detrimentally impacts the setup. The addition of a proper tailpiece for the violin made a huge difference in the intonation, projection and all around responsiveness of the strings.
As for how it sounds? This violin is very responsive with a smooth, wonderful punch. Some violins are shrill and are hard to listen to, but this one is very smooth, even-toned and a pleasure to hear in comparison to lesser quality violins.
The pegs have been serviced, the fingerboard has been smoothed and oiled for richness and longevity. Detailed photos of the bridge which is perfectly fitted, straight and carved to suit this violin are provided — this instrument is ready for class, home study and enjoying. The violin has a handful of minor blemishes which have been touched with professional violin varnish — in excellent condition.
