This is really for the serious guitar player. A friend built this entire set for me...and he did everything. The woodwork is impeccable...quality craftsmanship that I can't say enough good things about. The circuit follows Ken Fischer's design and uses military grade components throughout most every piece. The amp has EL-34s but you can run 6V6's if you wish. The cab has (4) Celestion Creambacks (those were $1250 alone!). Everything matches. I'm getting older and I'm not using gear like this at gigs. Frankly, it's too much for me to move and I have another Trainwreck Express clone that he built with a 1X12 cab that I'm keeping. The attenuator allows you to play at bedroom volumes. This rig is extremely touch sensitive. It is a high gain amp but cleans up really well with your volume/tone controls and picking dynamics. That's where you learn to be a real pro guitarist! You really don't need any gain/boost pedals with this rig. In fact, I've gone commando (no pedals except a tuner) at gigs with this. I even did outdoor festivals and didn't need to mic it, as it's plenty loud with no attenuation. Bonus: the amp comes with a flight case and the cabinet comes with a vinyl cover.

This rig can cover a lot of ground - hard rock, blues, country.

Trainwreck head w/case- $1,200
4X12 Cabinet w/cover - $600
Attenuator (only sold w amp) - $75
