Meet, Kermit the violin, or perhaps VioGodzillin, or maybe, The Swamp Violin; whatever you choose to name it, this is the type of violin you’d name. I have a beautiful, hand finished and custom varnished imported white violin (Strad model) from China. This violin has traveled a long way to join you on your musical journey. An imported violin blank of high-quality build made from aged billets of 10-15 years. Spruce top with tight grain and maple back and sides heavily flamed. I’ve put a lot of care, passion and time into refining this instrument with custom hand carved scroll work, hand-finished edge work, re-graduation of the top and bottom plates (for full range with rich powerful lows and stable highs), high quality fittings and a custom professional level varnish job — a truly one of a kind work-of-art.
I’ve set this violin up with top quality materials and varnished it with Joha spirit varnish in a deep green with numerous layers of colors which shimmer and change before your eyes. The chatoyancy through this varnish is brilliant and moves like a hologram. The pictures don’t do it justice, the varnish has an amazing amount of depth and complexity which is truly mesmerizing.
With a properly scooped and relived neck this violin is setup with correct action at both the nut end and bridge end which gives this violin an ease of play and clarity of tone.
This violin was purchased as a white violin blank, from “International Violin” in Baltimore Maryland. Imported from China and, finished, varnished and setup in Federal Heights Colorado by myself Amanda LaBrock. The violin bears my name on the label, but it was built in China; I just finished it.
