Charis SJ-F (florentine cutaway) with Madagascar Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce & L.R. Baggs I-Beam Pickup. Handcrafted by master luthier Bill Wise. This 2008 Charis SJ with Florentine Cutaway is suited for whatever style you throw at it, flat-picked or otherwise. This guitar is excellent+ or mint- depending on your pickiness. For me it's a mint for a 15 year old guitar. Has builder-installed clear pickguard. Bill used premium woods for this build and is considered one of the premier luthier/builders of our time. This is an heirloom guitar that I'm only offering because of a guitar purchase that requires one in/one out. As you can see, this is some of the most exquisite Madagascar Rosewood anywhere.

The combination of premium Madagascar Rosewood back and sides and Adirondack Spruce top with Bill’s scalloped X and fan bracing, versatile Florentine cutaway for access to the higher register make this a wonderful guitar to behold. With Adirondack Spruce top braces and Mahogany back braces, East Indian Rosewood body bindings, Mahogany, Walnut and Maple 5-piece neck, Burled California Black Oak rosette, Bloodwood and Maple snowflake fretboard inlays, Santos Rosewood headstock purfling and logo, Ebony fretboard and bridge and more. Bill built this while he was finishing his interiors with a varnish. It sounds great whether live acoustically or plugged in.

The guitar was just inspected and set up by my tech for smooth play with no buzzing or issues. The guitar is near-mint with no damage, repairs, scratches or other mars. I've listed it as Excellent rather than "mint" because every guitar, even 15 year old ones like this, will have handling marks somewhere that you may notice that I don't. This guitar has only a few extremely tiny marks that are only visible by turning the guitar around to find them and don't photograph. The frets are 90+ percent and have many years of life remaining. Ships in excellent Cedar Creek case that has some rub marks but no damage, tears or repairs and all latches work perfectly.

Mr. Wise' current base-price is $15,000 with a $2,000 upcharge for Madagascar Rosewood replacement cost for this guitar is $17,000.
