For Sale is a 2004 Martin BC-15E in solid Mahogany. This phenomenal acoustic/electric bass is in Very Good condition with just a handful of blemishes to disclose.
The first, and most obvious, is found on the top under the 4th string and it’s purely aesthetic in nature. It appears that someone may have tried using a chemical cleaner or something of that nature that somewhat dissolved the Rosette In that area. There is a small area within that which looks like the string may have contacted the wood a few times as a result of playing style. See photos. .
On the bass side of the guitar down on the lower bout there is a ding that has damaged the wood a little, however it doesn’t go through the wood. I’d call it a gouge if it were deeper, but it is what I’d call a ding. See photos.
In the cutaway section I saw a small indention and I have a photo as well.
Around the top and back edges there are a small number of little nicks as happens on non-bound bodies. None are severely hideous and they absolutely do not go very deep. If you want more detailed photos, let me know.
This bass also has some “shiny spots” that occur on matte/satin finished guitars from contact. This occurs in areas where a players skin/body is in frequent contact with the satin finish.
The voice is deep, rich and resonant. The EQ is a Martin Prefix Plus Bass 4 Band EQ made by Fishman. This bass sounds great plugged in or unplugged. One of the nicest sounding acoustic basses you’ll ever hear.
Made at the Nazareth Martin factory. It is about the size of a Martin 0000 with cutaway. Included is a sturdyC.F. Martin & Co. hardshell case. It features strong support, a soft plush green interior, and a large compartment beneath, and Martin owner’s docs inside the neck compartment. The frets were just polished and the Rosewood fretboard has been oiled.
