The guitar was built in 2012. KM Clark built his guitars of his own design modeled, somewhat, after Ovation, where he worked for nearly 20 years. His guitars were limited in production to clients around the world. He joined forces with Mike Mushok of Staind & Saint Asonia .
KM Clark designed a very innovative design, from the bridge holes designed to not need bridge pin, supported by a metal plate, to the palm rest inset for easy access to the higher frets. The back is reminiscent of an Ovation with an arched back. Top; Solid Spruce. Sides; solid Cocobolo. Back; Cocobolo and Mahogony (multi-lam 'wedge'); Rosewood Bridge and Fingerboard; and the neck is made of flamed Gobi . It looks as if it were stained but is the actual natural color. Has a very cool headstock inlay of the earth. Length 25.5"; Nut Width 1.75"; I would describe the neck shape as a wide-thin D.
As far as marks; there are some dents and scratches that you might expect from a 14 y.o. guitar. There is, about, a 2" hairline crack in finish(not in the wood) on the back top near the binding that's not obvious but easy to find once you know it's there (see pic).
This guitar is performance art - not only does it look stunning, but plays and sounds great with excellent bass, clarity, projection. Comes with a really nice Taylor case.
