Original owner. Great condition. The back of the neck has had the varnish sanded off (see pics). This was done at the suggestion of the teacher, due to my student’s thumb sticking while moving up and down the neck. Apparently, this is a very common thing done by guitarists.
If you were going to rent a violin for your young student, this instrument is the price of approximately one year of rentals. But then you own it, and can resell it if the whole violin thing doesn’t work out!
