If you are looking for a drum kit that is period correct, that represents a piece of early drum history, and has the vintage look and sound of the roaring 20's, this Leedy and Ludwig Drum Kit is for you! Condition is "very good" considering when it was built and its age.

OBO

Drums included:

Leedy 12" x 26" Reliance Bass Drum. This drum is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits or extra holes. Drum was originally painted white. The white paint was removed and the natural wood shell remains with a coat of clear lacquer to show-off the beautiful natural wood grain finish.

Ludwig 5" x 14" Universal Snare Drum. Shell was originally painted white and has been repainted to match its original color. Although the strainer is functional, it looks like someone put a different strainer on the drum along the way.

Leedy 4" x 10" Chinese Tom Tom with red painted sides and asian figures painted on top and bottom heads. The tacked heads look good with no splits or cracks but there are surface cracks in the sides of the tom (see pics).

Cymbals included:

Leedy 12" cymbal with chinos riveted onto cymbal.

Leedy 12" cymbal without chinos but holes are still in the cymbal.

13" cymbal mounted by the beater on the bass drum (not sure of the brand).

12" Chinese cymbal. This cymbal has a crack on the outer edge but still sounds good (see pic).

Cymbal Arms & Stands included:

Leedy drum stand cymbal holder for the Leedy riveted cymbal.

Leedy bass drum cymbal mount that allows the cymbal to be struck by the bass drum beater.

Leedy bass drum cymbal arm for the Chinese cymbal.

Leedy & Ludwig bass drum cymbal mount for the 12" Leedy with no rivets.

Drum Heads included:

Bass drum includes (2) original Leedy Reliance "Hardwhite" calf skin heads. Beater side drum head in excellent condition. Resonate side bass drum head has a small 1" split but still sounds great and is not getting any bigger (see pic).

Snare drum has new Remo Ambassador white coated drum head on the batter side and Remo Diplomate hazy drum head on the snare side. The snare drum heads that were on the snare drum when I bought the kit will be included.

Wood Block included:

Leedy wood block (cracked on the top /front but still sounds and plays great).

Other Misc. Items included:

Leedy "Professional Pedal - Direct Stroke" (Fraser) bass drum pedal with original beater and cymbal striker.

Leedy bass drum muffler.

(2) Leedy bass drum clamp on legs.

Original bass drum and snare drum cream colored drum covers.

Leedy drum key.
Very early period brushes.

Vintage mallet.

Vintage music stand in leather carrying case.

Vintage black trap case.

In 1929 U.G. Leedy and Wm. F. Ludwig. Sr consummated agreements to merge their two drum companies into C.G. Conn Ltd Company. In 1930 C.G. Conn moved Leedy's drum manufacturing from Indianapolis, and Ludwig drum manufacturing from Chicago, to Elkhart Indiana. It was during this period that I believe this drum kit was first manufactured and assembled.

This is a very special drum kit! My desire is that this drum kit go to a new home, to a person who respects drum history and has a desire to preserve the drum kit in its original form for future generations of drummers to see and hear.

Bob
