POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Perform warehouse duties, which consist of pulling orders and loading trucks for shipment.  To ensure the proper paperwork is with each order.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use SAP and Powered Industrial Equipment to stage materials for production for based on SAP requirements and production schedule requirements.  Proper use of SAP to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Use SAP and Powered Industrial Equipment to ensures the proper flow of product from the production lines to the warehouse and proper use of SAP to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Able to successfully operator Powered Industrial Equipment in a vary of different areas, not limited to but including, coolers, freezers, production mezzanines, warehouse racking and on the production floor.
  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified to fully operate Powered Industrial Equipment in the plant.
  • Maintain clean work area and clean equipment
  • Follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
  • Completing off line duties ahead of production schedule such as managing fruit thaw and fitzmill processes
  • Complete production operations tasks as duties as assigned, not limited to but including, cooking, pulling and stacking.
  • Adhere to GMP, Food Safety, International Food Standards (IFS) and Occupations Health and Safety (OH&S) standards
  • Able to be flexible with days and hours; available to work overtime and weekends with limited notification.
  • Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and supports the Circle of Excellence.

EQUIPMENT USED

  • Production line equipment, RF guns, scoops, brooms, brushes, air guns, vacuums, hand trucks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

 

SAFETY HAZARDS/PPE REQUIREMENTS

  • Mobile equipment traffic in production and warehouse areas
  • Slippery surfaces due to ingredients; company provided footwear is required
  • Certain areas of the plant require hearing protection; hearing protection is mandatory in all production areas.
  • Respirators (dust masks) are optional
  • Must complete and achieve a passing grade on all mandated safety training

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/LEVELS OF COMPETENCE

  

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two years’ experience in warehouse or operations environment (knowledge of operations preferred)
  • Requires oral, written and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle many diversified tasks at one time and correctly prioritize time
  • Must be forklift certified or have the ability to become forklift certified
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Computer skills helpful

Capable of working in elements such as extreme temperatures, flour dust, fumes and occasional loud noises.

Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, seafood and shellfish.

This is a fast paced environment requiring constant and continuous production. Temperature changes as work area directs.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving vehicles and moving mechanical parts and is often exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
