Performs manual and machine operated tasks related to producing plates. This position also requires comparing printed signatures to the final bound proof to ensure correct pagination.
Requirements:
Knowledge of production processes related to Platemaking and plate performance. Also, a knowledge of Platemaking equipment, materials, products. Ability to plan work effectively and produce necessary output of quality printing press plates. Ability to anticipate problems and head them off. Knowledge of some general maintenance procedures for platemaking equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
· Selects and process required plate files based on press schedule
· Ensure all necessary identifying marks are present on the plates.
· Completes plate processing by bending and stacking plates per section.
· Completes production records and files production materials.
· Labels and initials all plates and press copies after being checked.
· Compare press signature pagination to final approved proof.
· After plate and press check is complete, sign-out bindery proof and return to designated area.
· Performs routine processor maintenance.
· Works with customers and fellow employees in a courteous, respectful and professional manner
· Able to read and follow instructions outlined by the work order form.
· Cleans up and keeps work area neat and orderly.
· Performs all other duties as requested or required.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands are typical for a relatively clean manufacturing service department setting. Some requirement to be aware of and manage necessary precautions for various print manufacturing products with MSDS safety documents.
