I'm a UC Berkeley Applied Mathematics graduate and a working software engineer with 5 years of professional experience. I tutor both math and programming for students, career switchers, and anyone who wants to actually understand the material instead of just memorizing formulas.
Math subjects I cover:
- Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (I, II, III)
- Linear Algebra
- Probability and Statistics
- Discrete Math
- SAT/ACT math sections
- College admissions math prep
- Actuarial exam prep (I passed Exam P and Exam FM)
Programming subjects I cover:
- JavaScript (beginner to advanced)
- TypeScript
- React and frontend web development
- Python
- HTML/CSS
- General programming logic and problem-solving
- Building and deploying your first web application from scratch
- CS fundamentals for self-taught developers
I don't do the "read from a textbook at you" style of tutoring. I figure out where you're stuck, explain it in plain language, and give you problems that actually build understanding. I've mentored junior developers professionally, so I know how to meet people where they are.
$50/hour. Sessions are remote over Zoom or Google Meet. I'm flexible on scheduling.
If you're a parent looking for a tutor for your kid, happy to do a quick intro call first so you can see if it's a good fit. No commitment.
