The research study is comparing methadone and buprenorphine for treatment for opioid use. All medication is prescribed by a clinician and picked up at the Kaiser Permanente Colorado pharmacy.
You must be willing to be randomly assigned to receive either methadone or buprenorphine from your doctor. You will be compensated for your time.
What is involved:
• One in-person visit for screening
• Six monthly visits
• Weekly remote questionnaire
• Total time = 6 months
Are you eligible?
• 18 years of age or older
• Meet DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)
• Starting a new treatment for OUD
• Kaiser Permanente Colorado member
