Job Title: Field Maintenance Technician
Department: Field Operations
Reports To: Greenways Landscape Owner
Position Summary:
The District Maintenance Technician performs inspections, maintenance, and repair work on lakes, fountains, drainage systems, lighting, signage, and stormwater infrastructure. The position also includes snow removal and basic mechanical and electrical work. The technician ensures all public areas are clean, safe, and functional while working directly with ownership to carry out scheduled and weather-related tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect and maintain ponds, drainage systems, fountains, and stormwater equipment
Operate and service pumps, aeration
Perform light electrical work, including lighting, timers, and outlets
Control pest and mosquito control following district guidelines
Patrol and remove graffiti, trash, and debris from assigned areas
Maintain signage, flagpoles, and public fixtures
Perform seasonal tasks such as lake start-ups, shutdowns, and signage changes
Support snow operations including plowing, shoveling, and de-icing
Maintain accurate inspection and repair records
Operate company vehicles and equipment safely
Follow all safety procedures and immediately report hazards or incidents
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum three years of experience in landscape, stormwater, or environmental maintenance
Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Herbicide or QS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor safely
Work Environment:
Primarily outdoors with exposure to weather, noise, and moving equipment. Some overtime, evenings, or weekends may be required during storms or emergencies.
Compensation:
$60,000–$70,000 annually, + performance bonuses salary depending on experience and certifications.
