Forklift Driver – Steel Fabrication
Location: St Thomas Steel | 19010 Hwy 72, Arvada CO 80007
Pay: $25–$27/hour depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | some Saturday work and overtime as needed
About the Company
We are a steel fabrication company serving commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Denver metro area. Safety, precision, and reliability are core to how we operate, and we are looking for an experienced forklift driver to support our fabrication and material handling operations.
Job Responsibilities
• Safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload steel materials
• Handle heavy and oversized steel components with precision
• Transport steel within the fabrication shop and yard
• Assist with staging materials for fabrication and delivery
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
• Work closely with shop supervisors and fabrication teams
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Qualifications
• 3–5 years of forklift operating experience
• Prior experience moving steel or heavy construction materials
• Strong understanding of load balance, weight limits, and safe rigging practices
• Ability to work in an industrial fabrication environment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in steel fabrication or construction environments
• OSHA forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with outdoor yard operations
• Basic understanding of shop drawings or material tags
