Les BakerWas a well-known Southwest jewelry designer, based in New Mexico, active from the 1960s to 2014.
Although not Native American himself, he worked closely with and employed many Navajo and other Native American silversmiths, notably Fritson Toledo.
Known for designs that included free-flowing scrollwork, leaves, and high-quality turquoise set in sterling silver.
Pieces are often unsigned or bear a shop mark; signed pieces tend to have higher collector value.
