Vintage bolo clasp features a Peyote Bird (also known as a Water Bird), a sacred symbol in Native American culture—particularly among the Hopi, Navajo, and Zuni—representing spiritual renewal, healing, and peace.
On back, there is a HALLMARK "T" with an arrow (see pic). With the specific design of the "peyote bird", this piece may be the work of Floyd Namingha Lomakuyvaya, a renowned Hopi silversmith. Often mistaken for a simple letter "T," this hallmark is actually a pictograph of an Antelope Rattle, which is a significant symbol in Hopi culture.
The "crushed" appearance of the turquoise and coral is chip inlay.
The "Bennington" or "Bennett" mark on the clasp (see pic) is a common type of patented bolo slide mechanism often found on authentic vintage pieces from the 1960's and 1970's.
