Hi, my name is Kent. I’m an aspiring “jack of all trades” handyman and I enjoy doing a variety of labor and basic or more advanced handyman maintenance and repair tasks. I don’t start a project I don’t have enough experience or confidence with, and I am a bit of a perfectionist sometimes, so I like to do things professionally and thoroughly, but also efficiently. I’m usually pretty detailed and thorough in communication, too.
I have ladders and good experience using them for gutter or window cleaning, installing lights, siding, painting and more. I also do some assembly and disassembly, cleaning, organizing, packing, moving help, and some basic maintenance, repair, demo and renovation projects. Removing and replacing landscape and erosion control, siding, painting, caulking, and more. I have most of the tools and supplies for these types of work.
General yard work like mowing, raking, trimming, is $40 the first hour and $30 after, but heavier and repetitive landscape labor, like snow shoveling, ice scraping, moving rock, leveling and packing ground, shoveling, etc is $50 the first hour and $40 per hour after.
$20 more to bring and use my gas mower and trimmer.
Gutter cleaning is $55 the first hour then $45/hour after and includes testing downspouts, clearing gutter runs and removing any clogs.
More seasonal work I’ve done for the last several years is install holiday lights and remove snow and ice.
Same hourly rate for installing lights as gutter cleaning and same for snow and ice removal as heavier yard and landscape work.
Moving help: (lifting, carrying, rolling, disassembly/assembly, shrink wrapping, etc) is $50 the first hour and $40 per hour after.
For another mover, the cost per hour is twice that.
I have four years part time residential moving and packing experience with professional companies and have dollies and other moving tools. I can rent, but don’t own a truck, van or trailer. But I have loaded many trucks to avoid damages (especially with enough protective supplies) and been on 20+ interstate moves.
Moving work can be hard to estimate, especially for larger homes and when packing isn’t done very well. Pictures are extra helpful and important to estimate moving help time needed.
-I’ve installed Govee permanent house lights and a few lower end brands.
You can give your preferences- hiding and neatly tucking extension cords, where to light up, distance from walls, and spacing between lights and I can accommodate. If cords need splicing for a perfect fit and light set allows for that, I can do that too. I recommend Govee for multiple storey houses because it’s one of the few brands that include two long and 2-3 short extension cords for eaves and level jumps.
We can discuss install and cost details based on house size, architecture, and ladders needed.

My rate for permanent light installation:
$35 per hour for more simple ranch style homes not requiring tall ladders, $45/hour for larger/ medium difficulty, and $55/hour for two+ story homes with more complexity, customization, and planning time involved. Photos showing under eaves and where lights can go will help to estimate the time and difficulty.
Nearly any indoor or outdoor work I’m open to doing and I’m open to doing small or large properties. An hour or two, a day, week or more.
One hour minimum for all work, but after that we can do the math for partial hour.
Venmo is preferred for payment, otherwise cash, check, or other form of payment may work.
I’m reliable, thorough and hardworking, and have good references with moving businesses, contract work for a large service company, a junk removal business, moving businesses, and homeowners and contractors I do recurring or occasional work for.
Most services and products we get are continually lower quality, as well as higher cost. Not to mention common scheduling, communication, and other issues.
When I worked a short time for a service business, I heard from homeowners who sometimes got rescheduled multiple times and sometimes work was unfinished or not done right by other workers.
In an extreme example, I replaced metal sheeting for outside walls, roof, and trim for a large workshop. The homeowner paid about 1/8th or less what he would have paid the company that constructed it, and the quality of work was better than the original rushed work. I used lag bolts and screws vs the minimal two nails per joint (that were separating) and replaced rotted 2 by 4s on the roof because many extra screw holes were made and not filled in.
It’s a win-win for both homeowners and I to work directly and not through an often overrated and overpriced company.
I’m glad to provide good, honest service, and a positive and smooth experience!
Let me know what small or large job or project you have in mind!
I respond quickest to texts or calls with voicemail.
Photos for more information and detail are very helpful and appreciated.
I look forward to hearing from you and finding a time to work!
