Job Description:

-Taking inbound calls from doctor's office regarding changes on demographic information, adding or removing doctor's from accounts, adding on testing to specimen already being tested in the lab, and answering questions around results of tests

-Assisting in identifying missing specimens by creating a missing specimen search by calling other labs in the area to get it directed to their lab

-Work with Pathologists around request for slides (i.e. specimen need deeper cuts, etc.)

Work Environment:

-Office environment

-There are 2 people in this department (1 is leaving for a different opportunity, which is why this position is open)

-This is a 6 month contract-to-hire

-Hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5 PM (1/2 hour lunch)

Qualifications:

-Seeking a candidate with 2 years of healthcare/medical experience

-Open to candidates with a previous Medical Assistant background

-Looking for candidates with an administrative/front desk experience in a doctor's office or clinic

-Prefer someone with experience in an OBGYN office, but not required

-Seeking candidates who are familiar with the process of collecting specimen

-Not searching someone who comes from a call center/customer service background, as they want individuals that have had to interact with doctor's

-Looking for someone with strong Medical Terminology experience
