Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) – Job Description
The Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) provides community-based behavioral health services that promote recovery, independence, and overall well-being. Applicants must possess a current QBHA certification and meet all Colorado QBHA eligibility requirements to be considered for this position. Responsibilities include teaching life skills, providing psychosocial rehabilitation, assisting with resource navigation, supporting housing and employment goals, facilitating individual and group sessions, and connecting clients with community resources. QBHAs help individuals develop coping strategies, improve daily living skills, strengthen communication, manage symptoms, and work toward individualized recovery goals under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Services are delivered in homes, community settings, shelters, treatment facilities, structured living environments, and other approved locations. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, organized, able to maintain professional boundaries, and committed to empowering individuals through person-centered, recovery-oriented care while maintaining accurate Medicaid-compliant documentation.
