Summary:
Performs routine and emergency echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound tests in an outpient exam room, or if approprie, portable pient bedside.
Responsibilities:
Independently performs responsibilities of underlying job(s) and acts as subject mter expert in providing board certified level of care. Prepares pients for procedures within scope of practice.
Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and/or vascular interventional procedures. Performs, analyzes imaging procedures and results; takes approprie action to resolve image quality issues.
Educes pient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure pient's understanding and cooperion. Assists with monitoring pient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in stus as approprie.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Selects approprie exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs approprie quality control procedures on equipment.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take approprie action.
Requirements:
Gradue of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography, diagnostic cardiac sonography or vascular technology program.
BLS through the American Heart Associion or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start de. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
