Skye has seen it all. She's been ridden on trails and in parades, will happily walk through a drive-thru, and is about as bomb-proof on the trail as they come. She rides out confidently alone and loads into a 3-horse slant without hesitation. In the herd she's middle-of-the-road — not dominant, not a pushover.
She stays healthy and happy on first-cut Timothy hay and a balancer, and is barefoot sound. She hauls well and is easy to maintain overall.
A note on her health: Skye has a rehabilitated check ligament injury in her right front leg. She requires a supportive boot when riding and is limited in her ability to trot and lope extensively. For this reason, we are selling her as a trail horse only — she can do some trotting and loping, just not in large amounts. She was previously an intermediate lesson horse, but that role is no longer a good fit given her limitations.
Best match: An intermediate rider who can ride her consistently — Skye gets sour when she sits. She has a sharp, willing mind, which is wonderful, but it also means she can get pushy with inexperienced riders in an arena setting. On the trail, however, she is quite manageable even for a beginner. She'd make an ideal companion for someone looking for a reliable, steady trail partner.
