Vermicomposting CFT stands for Continuous Flow Through vermicomposting, a system that feeds worms organic matter from the top and collects finished castings from the bottom without disrupting the active worm environment. CFTs are efficient because they allow for continuous, labor-reduced harvesting and maintain a stable, optimal habitat for the worms.
This is a modified 50 gallon trash bin.

How Continuous Flow Through Vermicomposting (CFT) Works
1. Feeding:
Organic material is added in thin layers to the top of the bin.
2. Worm Activity:
The worms migrate upward, consuming the food and moving through the compost.
3. Harvesting:
The castings fall through the PVC grate to a collection pan below.
4. Continuous Operation:
This bottom-up harvesting method ensures that the worm ecosystem remains undisturbed and can continue working without interruption.
