The lid pops open instantly as your hand holding trash approaches anywhere near the front of the can. You get spoiled after living with this system a while. It works perfectly and you'll never touch your trash can again.
It's silent in operation as it opens and closes itself. You can make the lid stay up by pushing a button, otherwise it closes automatically after being up about 5 seconds.
Made of heavy and stable stainless steel. A lift-out, washable, black plastic inner can holds a standard kitchen-size (13 gallon) plastic trash bag.
This model costs over $100 when new (look it up). There are cheaper competitors but this EKO Mirage is the best built and best functioning product of its type on the market.
