Made of hardwood, this handmade hutch is two pieces. The bottom half is around 125 years old. The top half was made later but is likely around 100 years old.
Features drawers, including rare to find possum belly drawers, and a pull out cutting board. There is nice wood work embellishment on the top of the hutch, legs, stable sides, and shelf unit face.
The top half is solid and sturdy. The bottom half is more delicate because it was built with various wood joints (ex. tongue and groove) that have loosened over the years. It is easily fixable with some wiggling, screws, and wood glue. The bottom of a drawer falls out because the sides need to be squared and tightened. The texturing of one of the possum belly drawers has a small tear.
With some wood glue, buffing, and shellacking, this hutch would be sturdy and beautiful!
