Newly Refurbished Vintage Bow-Front, 8-Drawer Hepplewhite dresser; made by the Mengel Furniture Company.
This dresser is a very solid, well-made piece which shows the dedication to quality that Mengel possessed.
The curvy silhouette of this piece makes an elegant statement.
Mengel started out in 1877 as a lumber company. They later went on to produce wooden car frames and furniture along with other items like wooden toys, wooden washing machines, windows and doors. Mengels furniture continues to be sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, reflecting the timeless quality and aesthetic of its pieces.
All of my pieces are thoroughly prepped with a deep cleaning inside and out, sanded, repaired and primed to ensure excellent adhesion of the new finish.
The entire dresser has been completely stripped. It has been refinished in a high quality Sherwin Williams Urethane Enamel Alycalid paint in the color Accessible Beige; a warm neutral with gray undertones that will compliment any décor.
The top has been completely stripped to reveal the beautiful wood grain. It has been refinished in a natural toned stain and sealed with several coats of a matte topcoat for excellent durability.
All of the dovetailed drawers are in excellent condition and function perfectly. The drawer bottoms are a beautiful mahogany and are in pristine condition. They have all been thoroughly cleaned inside and out.
The drawer boxes, along with the wood in the dresser have been rehydrated with Howard Feed-N-Wax Wood Conditioner.
The original hardware has been replaced with beautiful champagne gold knobs to complete the updated look.
