Antique Singer 29k Boot Patching Treadle Sewing Machine for sale. This machine works perfectly. It was originally manufactured by Singer in the USA on August 26, 1892 (determined by looking up serial number on Singer website). The machine is 132 years old but has been lightly used and works amazing. Most of the paint is original. The treadle had 3 or 4 cracks which I welded and then repainted the treadle. The mechanism on these Singer 29k machines that controls the feeding of the fabric wears over time from use and the maximum stitch length is reduced. I repaired the cam on this machine to restore the full stitch length and for proper function in all respects. An original wooden parts drawer, leather belt and original threading rod (for pushing the thread into the machine mechanism when changing thread spools) are included. This machine has two spots on the pulleys that allow for 2 different sewing speeds.
This machine has a 12-3/8" throat, so you can sew decorative straight stitches or patches on a cowboy boot or other work boot. The item being sewn does not need to be rotated, the sewing head can be rotated to any direction (360 degrees). This is very handy for sewing knee patches on jeans or leather pants as well as any other item that is difficult to turn while sewing. The machine will sew heavy leather work boots or lighter leather and fabric. It would also work well for making leather wallets. The machine can sew detail spots by turning the handwheel or longer runs with the treadle. I love this machine and I am only selling it because I have another boot patcher.
I have electronic copies of the operator manuals, service manual and parts manuals for different years of manufacture for the 29k series which I can provide to you.
These machines are currently listed on eBay for $1200 to 2400 (including shipping). I believe that mine is in better condition that the ones on eBay.
Cash only, price is firm. I will help you load the machine into your truck or SUV. I would suggest that we disassemble the sewing head from the stand for transport (removing 4 screws are all that is required).
