Clam shell design allows you to separate items
in two compartments with the center divider.
You open the suitcase on the hotel bed and
stash all your clothes in the hotel dresser.
That way you aren’t living out of a suitcase,
when you get out of the shower or the swimming pool.
These suitcases were ideal if you get the bellhop to handle your luggage.
Nowadays you are the bellhop. Get over it!
TSA put an end to the bellhop job. It’s really very unfortunate.
When you arrive at the airport late,
you need all the help you can get to make your flight.
The bellhop was certainly worth $1 a suitcase.
I once tipped a porter for wheeling my luggage from
car rental return to the Orlando curbside check-in
-a 30 minute walk. It would’ve taken me 2 hours to handle
the luggage myself and wait in a 90 minute line.
