High School diploma or equivalent. One year experience in cooking and warehouse operations in a high volume food service operation or related experience. Ability to read, write, follow standardized recipes and perform standard mathematical calculations. Ability to lift up to sixty (60) pounds. Ability to operate manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Ability to be flexible as day-to-day assignments will vary.
The Food Service Floater participates in all aspects of the food service operation including preparation, portioning and packaging of hot and cold food items for all programs within the Division as specified in approved menus and in accordance with agency standards and procedures. In addition, the floater receives stores and distributes food and supplies to all food service departments and programs in compliance with sanitation guidelines and Division procedures; assists in maintaining storage areas and participates as assigned in the physical inventory process.
