METALLICA And Justice for Jason Classic Album with Bass now up in the Mix
Original factory pressed CD with full color two sided artwork. NEW but does not come sealed.
So we have here a sort of response to one of the great mysteries of metal. After Cliff Burton's death, Metallica recruited an absolutely top-notch bass player in Jason Newsted. Yet when the actual follow-up record was released, the bass was mixed so low as to be practically nonexistent. It seemed, and seems, a particularly odd choice. I've always been curious about this, and have wanted to know what the record would sound like with Newsted's bass playing audible.
"...and Justice for All" without bass sounds like a stark, brutal, and very long testament informed equally by the band's deep sense of loss and their dogged commitment to keep on thrashing, whereas "...and Justice for All" with bass sounds like Master of Puppets, only more technical.
